Product re-cored the app on 6/14 — the hero is no longer the float, it’s follow → user-controlled alerts → location-aware discovery. That works alone, on day one, for everyone, and it turns the app’s one unique power (notifications) from a doctrine problem into the core value, because every alert is one the user asked for by following. These boards are the visual + voice spec APP builds the follow/alerts core from. Demo market: Chattanooga · Mountain Laurel Plum.
Each traces to a locked decision — the brand soul, the v2 design system, or the product thesis. Nothing here is new doctrine; it’s the doctrine rendered.
Every alert exists because the user followed something. That’s “pull, not push” made literal — the opposite of the banned “Sarah saved 3 events.” It’s why warm, familiar alerts fit the brand instead of breaking it.
On a band page Follow is the primary accent action — bands are champions with free premium profiles, and following one should feel like backing it. Not a corner bookmark.
Per-type toggles + per-entity mute, and the promise stated in-product. The “on your terms” half is what makes the alert half allowed — so it’s designed, not buried in settings.
The OS notification permission fires at the first follow — with a warm pre-prompt first — never in onboarding where it has no payoff. One shot at the dialog; we don’t waste it on a guess.
The alert is the friend-text, delivered: who/when/where in the first words, playful in tone, “Want to go?” as the anchor. A reusable voice system across the generic engine, not one-off strings.
The v2 grammar, unchanged: Source Serif 4 for brand-voice moments, Forma DJR for everything functional. Navy ramp, hairline cards, market accent. The lightened sub-screen bar carries through.
Statuses: new build = APP builds this. extends v2 = lifts an existing v2 grammar onto a new surface.
The 7-beat first run, re-heroed on Follow; the float pulled out, notifications re-tied to the payoff.
First-class on a band page · three states · the bell that makes “alerts on” visible · the follower count Sales uses.
The warm pre-prompt that earns the tap, then the OS dialog — asked at first follow, never onboarding.
Everything you follow, grouped, each row showing its next moment + alert state. Lightened sub-screen grammar.
Per-type toggles + per-entity mute + the promise, stated up top. The “on your terms” half, made a screen.
The friend-text voice system — rotating sets for all 6 alert types, facts-first, rendered as real lock-screen pushes.
This is the design + voice destination for the app’s follow/alerts core. APP holds the UI build until this spec lands (Stacy’s call: Brand specs how it looks before APP builds). Systems already shipped the generic engine to prod — live but inert until the app wires follows + push tokens. These boards are what the app builds toward; every accent swaps per market by token. No coordination layer here — the float and groups are deferred with their own beat, by design.
